The UK Met Office has issued an urgent warning due to heavy snowfall expected in many parts of the country during the week. Residents of the regions covered by the yellow warning should be careful on Thursday and Friday.

The weather may cause problems with traffic and electricity from 3:00 a.m. on February 8 to the morning of February 9. This was reported by Express.

The snowfall is expected to lead to disruptions in public and private transportation, power outages, and isolation of some rural areas. Especially those located high above sea level.

The East Midlands, East Anglia, North East England, North West England, Wales, West Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber are the regions that could potentially be most affected by the snowstorm.

In some cities, 2 to 5 cm of snow is expected, and up to 20 cm at altitudes above 400 metres.

"On Thursday, rain, sleet and snowfall will move northward, bringing up to 2 cm of snow at lower levels, 2-5 cm at altitudes above 200 m, and possibly up to 10-20 cm at altitudes above 400 m. Later in the day, the snow will ease and may turn to rain or drizzle again, especially in the south and east," the forecast says.

Residents of the above-mentioned regions are advised to be careful and plan their trips taking into account unpredictable weather conditions.
