Marriott International has introduced a new brand called Series by Marriott in the Indian market through a collaboration with The Fern Hotels & Resorts. The launch includes 26 properties across 23 cities and adds more than 1,900 rooms to the company’s network. This represents the first global rollout of the Series brand and reflects ongoing activity within India’s mid-scale hotel segment, where demand continues to grow due to increased domestic travel and expanding regional connectivity across the country.

The Fern Hotels & Resorts is participating with a mix of properties located in different regions of India, among them Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur, Surat, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Kolhapur, Mussoorie, Jamnagar, Jambughoda, Dharampur, and Dapoli. The brand documentation also outlines several standardized services available across all participating hotels:

  • Grab n Go Breakfast for early departures
  • Single Lady Traveller amenities prepared before arrival
  • Evening Delight provided during turndown service
  • Lamp Lighting Ceremony conducted daily
  • Healthy Sleep setup with almonds, raisins, and cumin-infused water

The proliferation of mid-market hotels is making them more accessible, not just in the big cities, but also in less-traveled spots. This spread could impact how people plan their trips, particularly if they're hopping between different areas during busy times. Having hotels close to business hubs, transportation links, and entertainment areas means more consistent choices. Such distribution may be practical for travelers moving between different parts of the country, each of which has its own infrastructure conditions and service environment.

All of the properties are part of the Marriott Bonvoy program, allowing existing members to handle reservations and trip details through a single system. This integration may affect booking choices among users who rely on centralized reservation tools. For other travelers, having these hotels listed within an international booking framework offers an additional way to plan domestic trips, especially for those who visit several major cities for both work-related and personal reasons.

The arrival of Series by Marriott signals another evolution in India's mid-scale hotel sector, a space where global players are steadily increasing their footprint. This expansion means more consistent lodging choices for those on the move, available in a wider array of locations. As the brand grows, the number of properties operating under a single set of operational standards will likely rise, which could reshape how travelers plan their trips and assess their lodging options nationwide.
