Philippine Airlines is set to resume its direct flights from Manila to Sapporo starting November 24, 2025 as part of its seasonal winter schedule. Travellers can catch flights on this route every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with operations continuing until March 27, 2026. Flights will depart Manila at 6:30 AM and arrive in Sapporo at 12:15 PM, with return trips leaving Sapporo at 1:15 PM and landing in Manila at 6:10 PM, offering a nonstop link to Japan’s northern island during the busiest winter travel period.

The airline has confirmed this route will become a regular seasonal service available every winter from November through March. Important features of the service include:

  • Restored direct access to Sapporo’s New Chitose Airport
  • Ability for passengers to avoid connecting flights through Tokyo or Osaka
  • Reduced travel time during busy holiday periods
  • Schedule aligned with peak winter travel demand

Tourists will have direct access to some of Hokkaido’s most notable natural attractions. Visitors to Jozankei Onsen can unwind in this historic mountain hot spring town, known for its soothing baths and snowy surroundings. Asahiyama Zoo is a standout attraction, especially known for its winter penguin walks that draw families and wildlife fans alike. The picturesque Otaru Canal also draws visitors with its charming waterfront that glows beautifully when illuminated during winter evenings.

Outdoor and snow sport enthusiasts will find the flights convenient for reaching several key destinations. Just a few hours from Sapporo, Niseko United is a globally recognised ski destination with terrain suited to both beginners and seasoned skiers. Located near Biei, the Shirogane Blue Pond draws visitors with its vivid turquoise waters and the scenic contrast of snow-draped trees. Each winter, the calm beauty of Lake Shikotsu is enhanced by its popular ice festival, where frozen art and colorful lights draw crowds.
