From November 25 to December 5, 2025, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) will carry out large-scale work on the Naples-Cancello section of the Naples-Bari high-speed railway line. Every day, about 600 engineers, technicians, and other skilled workers are working on the site. They are engaged in the construction of new roads, the strengthening of existing ones, and the installation of new technological systems. During this time, there will be no train services on this part of the line at all. This means that people in southern Italy will have to make big changes to how they usually get around.

There will be fewer trains, some will be canceled, and others will be rerouted. This will make travel take longer and leave fewer connections open. Passengers may have to wait longer and experience delays at stations. During maintenance, regular schedules will not be in effect, so travelers should check official RFI updates frequently and plan their trips carefully. You should be prepared for issues that may affect your travel plans and connections.

Passengers connecting from Naples to Bari or beyond should be prepared for additional challenges. Replacement transport may involve extended waits at stations, different boarding locations, or longer transfer times than usual. Some services may operate at reduced frequency, creating bottlenecks and delays. Travelers should plan with flexibility, allocate extra time for connections, and verify platform or departure changes in advance to avoid missing onward trains, as temporary adjustments will be in place throughout the construction period.

Tourists and commuters need to stay informed through real-time information provided by RFI. Regularly checking official websites, apps, and station announcements is important for navigating temporary service interruptions. Understanding which trains are canceled or modified and how connections are affected can significantly reduce confusion. Travelers should be ready for slower and less predictable journeys, and plan additional time to ensure smoother passage during this intensive railway work.

In conclusion, anyone traveling on the Naples–Cancello route between 25 November and 5 December should expect a series of practical inconveniences. Service suspensions, modified schedules, replacement buses, extended transfer times, and crowded vehicles are all likely. Flexible planning, advance timetable checks, and readiness for delays will be essential. While temporary, these disruptions will require attention and patience, and travelers should take them into account when organizing journeys to ensure smooth passage through southern Italy.
