Luxair Opens Scotland’s New Link to Luxembourg
Luxair has launched its first route to Scotland, connecting Edinburgh directly with Luxembourg. The year-round service adds a new option for short breaks, business trips and visits between the two capitals without a change of aircraft. Luxembourg’s national airline is also the latest carrier to join Edinburgh Airport’s growing network.
Edinburgh’s New Luxembourg Connection
- Airline: Luxair
- Route: Edinburgh–Luxembourg
- Frequency: Twice weekly
- Flight days: Mondays and Fridays
- Season: Year-round
- Tickets: Available through Luxair
The Monday and Friday schedule is well placed for long weekends, while business passengers gain a direct connection to one of Europe’s main financial centres. This is Luxair’s first Scottish route and expands its UK network beyond existing destinations. The airline is selling direct return journeys, with the flight taking roughly two hours.
Luxembourg City offers more than banks and EU institutions. Its UNESCO-listed old quarters sit above deep river valleys, with the Bock Casemates, Grand Ducal Palace and Grund district within walking distance. Beyond the capital, visitors can reach the Müllerthal hiking region, often called Little Switzerland, as well as the castles, forests and small towns of the Luxembourg Ardennes.
The route also works in the opposite direction, giving Luxembourg residents a direct way to reach Edinburgh’s Old Town, castle, museums and festival calendar. Friday and Monday flights allow a full weekend in either city without using another European hub. It also provides a simpler starting point for trips into the Scottish Highlands or journeys beyond Luxembourg into neighbouring Belgium, France and Germany.
