Loganair, a regional airline in the UK, has introduced a temporary policy allowing children under 12 to travel without a base fare when accompanied by a fare-paying adult. Travellers can take advantage of the offer if they book between May 15 and May 25, with eligible trips beginning from June 1, 2025. At the same time, Loganair will begin operating two new seasonal connections from Edinburgh to Guernsey and Glasgow to Newquay, with flights starting late May.

The Edinburgh to Guernsey route will operate weekly on Saturdays until mid-September, providing a direct link to the Channel Islands. Flights are scheduled to depart in the afternoon with returns in the evening. Similarly, the Glasgow to Newquay service runs weekly and offers travellers an easier way to reach Cornwall’s coastline. These additions represent Loganair’s efforts to expand its regional network ahead of the busy summer travel season.

Our Kids Fly Fare-FREE initiative supports the return of our seasonal services to Guernsey and Newquay, and we look forward to welcoming more customers on board as they explore everything these fantastic destinations have to offer.
Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer at Loganair

Travelers visiting Guernsey can enjoy attractions such as the Little Chapel with its unique architecture and the scenic pink granite cliffs. Visitors to St Peter Port can explore its lovely streets and cultural highlights such as Castle Cornet. Meanwhile, Newquay is popular for its famous Fistral Beach which attracts surfers from around the world, as well as coastal walking paths that offer stunning views along the South West Coast.

Close to Newquay, the Eden Project offers visitors a chance to see remarkable biomes filled with exotic plant species. The nearby Tintagel Castle, steeped in Arthurian legend, provides spectacular coastal scenery and a glimpse into British mythology. Quaint fishing villages like Padstow and Port Isaac offer local seafood and traditional charm, enriching the travel experience for those flying to Cornwall via these new connections.

This initiative also highlights a shift in travel habits with more people choosing domestic and regional holidays amid economic uncertainties and global travel disruptions. By improving access to popular coastal destinations and providing family-friendly fares, Loganair is helping make UK travel more convenient and affordable. These changes may influence how regional airlines design their services, ultimately expanding options and accessibility for families and leisure travellers across the country.
