Lhasa Airport Introduces New Check-In Deadline for Domestic Flights
From 1 December 2025, check-in for domestic flights at Lhasa Gonggar will close 35 minutes before departure. Passengers will need to complete the process no later than 35 minutes before departure. The change is being brought in as part of routine operational updates at the airport. People planning flights in or out of Lhasa are encouraged to keep the new timing in mind when organising their trip.
The new rule applies to all domestic flights operating through Lhasa Gonggar. Airport staff note that the revised timing aims to reduce congestion during peak hours and give ground teams enough time to process luggage, verify documents and prepare each aircraft for an on-time departure. Passengers arriving after the 35-minute cut-off may no longer be able to check in or board, even if they are already inside the terminal.
Getting to the airport early is still the most practical way to avoid hold-ups. Queues for security, baggage drop or document checks can build up quickly during busy times, and with the 35-minute deadline in place, there’s far less room to deal with anything unexpected.
