AirAsia has released a travel advisory in preparation for the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition LIMA 2025, taking place from 20 to 24 May. Airspace closures for the upcoming aviation displays are likely to cause delays for passengers traveling to and from Langkawi. Travelers are advised to frequently check their flight status and complete check-in early using the AirAsia MOVE app to help reduce airport congestion during this peak time.

Check-in counters at the airport will be available only to passengers with special requirements such as reduced mobility, travelers with infants, pregnant passengers, or unaccompanied minors. Passengers without special requirements should utilize self check-in services like mobile boarding passes and automated kiosks. Passengers are advised to arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours ahead of international departures to allow sufficient time for boarding.

These airspace restrictions may significantly impact travelers with connecting flights or fixed travel schedules. Delays caused by aerial displays and air traffic adjustments can create unexpected complications including missed transport links or rebooked accommodations. Passengers are advised to stay adaptable, expect extended delays, and be ready to change their plans on short notice.

Although disruptions are anticipated, AirAsia advises passengers to make use of digital tools to help ease pressure on airport operations. The airline recommends managing bookings, uploading travel documents, and retrieving digital boarding passes in advance via the AirAsia MOVE app. According to AirAsia, these digital solutions are aimed at speeding up the check-in process and reducing crowding by limiting the need for in-person assistance during peak times.

These developments underline the need for passengers to prepare in advance when traveling amid large-scale international gatherings. Large gatherings such as LIMA 2025 bring operational hurdles affecting both local infrastructure and regional flight routes. When travel plans change unexpectedly, having the right information and digital tools on hand can make the experience far less stressful.
