In early 2025, the well-known youth tour operator Contiki plans to add four new routes across Asia, including a nine-day journey through Borneo, Malaysia. This trip offers the chance to witness local wildlife, including orangutans at the Semenggoh Wildlife Center and turtles on Selingan Island. The tour also includes a cruise along the Kinabatangan River, providing opportunities to observe exotic animal species.

In addition to Borneo, Contiki is expanding its popular Philippines tour, adding more islands to the itinerary. A 12-day China tour is also being reintroduced to help travelers navigate language and cultural barriers. Another upcoming tour includes a trip to India, where travelers can see the Taj Mahal and embark on a tiger safari to experience the country's wildlife.

The Semenggoh Wildlife Center is one of Borneo’s main tourist attractions, located near the city of Kuching. It offers a unique opportunity for tourists to observe rehabilitating orangutans that are transitioning back to the wild. The center works to restore these animals to their natural environment, where visitors can observe them in their natural habitat.

Another popular site in Borneo is Selingan Island, also known as Turtle Island. This is part of a marine sanctuary where conservation efforts for sea turtles are actively pursued. Visitors can watch turtles nesting on the beaches and learn about conservation programs organized by local wildlife organizations.

Contiki’s expansion reflects the growing demand among young travelers for new destinations and unique experiences. These tours allow for deeper immersion in Asian culture while enjoying the region’s natural wonders. The programs are designed to combine comfort with unique adventures on diverse routes.

This news opens up additional opportunities for tourists to discover unexplored parts of the world and connect with like-minded people. Contiki’s new destinations offer a wide selection for those looking to dive into Asia’s culture and nature. With expanded itineraries, Contiki continues to lead the way among tour operators, offering vibrant and unforgettable journeys.
