Japan named the most popular destination for tourists in 2024
According to a study conducted by the accommodation and booking company Airbnb, this year, travellers are interested in destinations that combine tradition and modernity. Thus, according to Airbnb, Japan will become the most popular Asian country for tourists in 2024.
In general, the company has selected 24 popular routes this year and identified which areas are experiencing significant growth in demand. This was reported by LiveMint.
According to Airbnb, compared to last year, increased search activity in 2024 is observed in countries such as Japan, Taiwan, Albania, Singapore, Finland, the United Arab Emirates, Curacao, Aruba, Thailand, and Guatemala. In addition, the greatest interest of travellers is observed in such cities as Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto.
"Thanks to its enchanting landscapes, rich history and culinary delights, Japan once again tops the list of the most popular countries. Its affordability, boosted by the weak yen, also contributed to the fact that the number of requests for Japan on Airbnb more than tripled compared to last year," Airbnb said in its report.
