ITA Airways has launched a new initiative, "Bring It with You, Now You Have More Weight and More Space," catering specifically to pet owners. Effective immediately, and with approval from ENAC, the airline has increased the maximum weight allowance for pets traveling in the cabin on all domestic flights.

The new policy raises the weight limit for animals from 8 kg to 10 kg, with an additional 2 kg allowance for the carrier. This change comes in response to the growing demand from customers who wish to travel comfortably with their pets. The service also includes the booking of window-adjacent seats to accommodate the new dimensions.

With a total maximum weight, including the carrier, set at 12 kg, pets can now travel more comfortably. The carrier’s dimensions are defined as 30 cm in width, 24 cm in height, and 40 cm in depth. ITA Airways has been consistently attentive to the needs of passengers traveling with pets and has developed this new offer to enhance the overall travel experience.

To further facilitate this service, ITA Airways will issue dedicated boarding passes for pets at the check-in counter. Ground staff will manually fill in the pet's name and travel route on the boarding pass, ensuring a smooth and personalized process.

Initially, this increased capacity will only apply to domestic flights within the ITA Airways network. Flights connecting with other airlines, as well as the company’s international and intercontinental routes, will continue to adhere to the existing weight limits and carrier dimensions.

ITA Airways’ new offer aims to provide pet owners with a more convenient and comfortable travel experience, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
