According to Australian law, passengers arriving in the country are required to identify themselves and provide certain information by filling out a "passenger card". Australia needs this to record where to look for you and what you are carrying with you.

Completion of this document is mandatory, unless otherwise provided for in regulation 3.06 and Annex 9 of the Migration Rules. You can find the information you need to provide on the website.

The Australian government needs to know where you are coming from, what you are bringing in, and where you plan to stay. Some of this information is needed to check before you leave the airport. This includes questions about whether you have alcohol, tobacco products or more than $10,000 in cash in your luggage.

Both Australians and visitors fill out the "Incoming Passenger Cards". The language to be used is English.

Some questions may relate to the transport of food, animal products, etc. in order to protect the flora and fauna of the region.

Parents can fill in the document for children or relatives with special needs. Inaccurate information may affect the traveller's visa status in Australia.
