IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its voco brand to Phuket, Thailand, in collaboration with AssetWise Public Company Limited and its subsidiary Rhom Bho Property Public Company Limited, a major local real estate company. The new hotel, voco Phuket Bangtao, is scheduled to open in 2029 with 175 rooms and suites. This marks the first voco property on the island and the third signing in Thailand. Located in Bangtao on Phuket’s West Coast, the hotel will be close to beaches, dining, and leisure facilities.

Bangtao features long stretches of sandy beaches and a dynamic coastal atmosphere. The area is around 30 minutes from Phuket International Airport, making it accessible to travellers from both domestic and international locations. The hotel will provide guests with practical amenities, including:

  • Restaurant
  • Lounge and bar
  • Spa
  • Swimming pool
  • Fitness centre

These amenities ensure guests have everything they need while remaining close to nearby beaches, restaurants, bars, and leisure spots.

The hotel is located within convenient distance of several popular attractions in the area. Laguna Phuket, known for its interconnected lagoons and waterways, is a popular spot for kayaking and paddleboarding, while the nearby Boat Avenue offers boutique shopping and waterfront dining with a focus on local flavours. Surin Beach, just a short distance away, allows visitors to swim, sunbathe, or simply unwind by the sea.

Beyond the immediate vicinity, Bangtao has plenty more to explore. Layan Beach provides a quiet spot to enjoy colorful sunsets, and just a short distance away, Bang Tao Golf Club welcomes golfers with its 18-hole course set in verdant surroundings. Catch Beach Club hosts beachside entertainment and live music, giving travellers a chance to enjoy social and leisure activities nearby. Visitors will be able to enjoy a mix of beach relaxation, outdoor activities, and local experiences right from their doorstep.

The launch of voco Phuket Bangtao adds more lodging choices in one of Thailand’s popular tourist destinations. For travellers, this means greater access to well-located lodging and convenient facilities that support a variety of activities. The development also reflects the broader trend of expanding international hotel brands in Phuket, offering visitors consistent standards and reliable services. Overall, the new property provides travellers with more opportunities to plan trips that balance beach relaxation, outdoor recreation, and local experiences.
