Finnair has published detailed guidance explaining how infants under the age of two can travel on its flights, covering tickets, baggage and onboard arrangements. Babies can usually travel on an adult’s lap at around 10% of the standard fare, provided they have a valid passport. A separate seat may also be purchased using a child fare if parents prefer to use an approved child restraint device during the journey.
Infants travelling without their own seat typically do not receive a standard cabin baggage allowance. Checked baggage depends on the fare type linked to the adult ticket, although foldable pushchairs and child car seats are generally accepted without additional cost. These items can usually be handed over at the boarding gate, allowing families to use them in the airport before departure where permitted.
