A new study by security firm iSharing has ranked the safest cities in the world for family travel in 2026. Researchers reviewed official safety data, urban facilities and the range of activities suitable for children when compiling the list. They also looked at how manageable daily life feels for families, such as transport links and access to open public areas. The aim was to single out cities where parents are less likely to worry about day-to-day safety and can focus on organising their trip.

Abu Dhabi topped the list with a safety score of 89 out of 100 and the highest family safety rating in the study. The city counts more than 126 attractions aimed at families. Dubai also appears in the top five with a score of 83.9 and over 600 family-oriented activities, though daily expenses there are significantly higher than in most other ranked destinations.

Taipei placed second worldwide, scoring 83.5. It achieved the strongest result among Asian cities included in the analysis. In addition to low crime indicators, Taipei stood out for moderate prices. Meals, public transport and entry to attractions cost less than in many comparable capitals, which can make a noticeable difference when travelling with children.

Doha recorded a safety rating of 84.9, just behind Abu Dhabi. The Qatari capital combines low reported crime with modern roads, transport links and nearly 100 child-friendly attractions. Families can divide their time between museums, waterfront areas and organised desert excursions, supported by structured public spaces and well-managed facilities.

Craiova in Romania ranked third globally and highest in Europe, with a safety score of 82.6. Living costs are among the lowest in the top five, with average rent around $700. The results show that smaller or less publicised cities can compete strongly on safety, which often carries more weight in family travel decisions than headline attractions alone.
