Etihad Airways is marking Ramadan with a series of themed touches across its network, bringing traditional Emirati elements to the ground and onboard experience. The airline is offering Ramadan-inspired dishes, special menus and cultural content during the holy month. The initiative reflects the carrier’s focus on highlighting UAE traditions while serving guests travelling through Abu Dhabi and beyond.

In its First and Business lounges at Zayed International Airport and at London Heathrow, guests can choose from iftar platters and regional dishes. Onboard, premium cabin passengers are served options such as Arabic mixed grill and Ramadan desserts, while Economy guests are offered Emirati-style main courses and traditional sweets. Healthy iftar choices are also available on selected flights.

"We are delighted to offer our guests a thoughtful experience this Ramadan, sharing beloved traditions and flavours inspired by the Emirati hospitality we champion and bringing a sense of community to our guests across the network. This sacred time is an opportunity to bring our guests together through authentic flavours, meaningful gestures, and a deep respect for the traditions that define this holy month, reflecting Etihad’s commitment to cultural connection and elevated hospitality. This year, we’ve enriched the guest journey with added moments of comfort, community, and reflection, both on the ground and in the skies."
Turky Alhammadi, Director Product and Hospitality at Etihad Airways

Passengers observing the fast on flights that do not coincide with iftar or suhoor receive takeaway bags before boarding or after landing. The airline has also curated Ramadan-themed programmes on its E-BOX entertainment system throughout March, including cooking shows and features exploring how different cultures mark the month.

Direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Medina have been running again since November 2025, with four services scheduled each week. The link provides a direct connection for those heading to Medina for Umrah during Ramadan. Visitors stopping in Abu Dhabi can also explore city events highlighted in the airline’s inflight magazine, which points to seasonal gatherings and community celebrations.

These changes shape the travel experience during Ramadan. With themed meals, religious programmes and direct flights to Medina, passengers can plan their journeys around the holy month more easily. For many people, travelling at this time has personal and spiritual importance, and the airline’s plans show how flight services can take account of religious traditions as well as schedules.
