As part of ongoing efforts to improve public transport, the Thanet Loop Improvement Project has introduced new parking restrictions along key sections of the bus route within the borough. These measures are designed to make journeys more reliable, timely, safe, and accessible for all passengers.

In the coming months, work will also commence on upgrading several bus stops along the route, enhancing the overall user experience. These improvements are part of a broader strategy to make local travel more convenient and efficient.

The Thanet Loop, which saw over three million passenger journeys last year, serves an average of 10,000 passengers each weekday. Starting June 2, the frequency of the service will increase from every 10 minutes to every eight minutes, enabling more people to experience the benefits of local public transport.

By implementing new parking restrictions, the project ensures that the bus service remains punctual and efficient. The planned upgrades to bus stops will further enhance accessibility and comfort for passengers.

This increase in service frequency is a direct response to the growing demand for public transport in the area. The enhanced schedule aims to encourage more people to choose buses over personal vehicles, thus reducing traffic congestion and promoting sustainable travel.

The Thanet Loop Improvement Project is committed to enhancing the public transport infrastructure within the borough. The new measures are designed not only to improve the current experience for passengers but also to attract new users by showcasing the advantages of local bus services.
