In response to increased seasonal travel demand, Emirates has announced the introduction of 46 extra flights during the Hajj and Eid Al-Adha period. This includes 33 flights scheduled to operate between Dubai and the Saudi cities of Jeddah and Medina until 31 May and again from 10 to 16 June. To handle increasing passenger demand, 13 more flights will link Dubai with regional cities including Amman, Dammam, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

The airline expects to carry nearly 32,000 Hajj pilgrims over the next few weeks from countries including Pakistan, Indonesia, South Africa, the United States, Thailand, and Côte d'Ivoire. Emirates is providing a range of support measures for these travellers, including guidance from airport staff and access to onboard items such as prayer mats, silicon water bottles, tasbih beads, and cushioned socks. The flights also include facilities that respect religious needs such as unperfumed towels and specific announcements when entering Miqat zones.

Those flying to Amman, Bahrain, or Kuwait can take advantage of easier access to cultural sites and historical attractions. Amman offers a look into the past with its Roman Theatre and the historic city of Jerash, located a short drive away. In Bahrain, travellers can visit the UNESCO-listed Qal’at al-Bahrain fort, stroll through the Manama Souq, or learn about the island’s heritage at the Bahrain National Museum. Among Kuwait City’s attractions are the well-known Kuwait Towers, the cultural Tareq Rajab Museum, and the peaceful Al Shaheed Park.

In Saudi Arabia, additional flights to Jeddah and Medina may open up time for visits beyond the main pilgrimage sites. Jeddah's Al-Balad district features coral-built houses and narrow alleys with centuries-old mosques. A favourite among locals, Jeddah’s Corniche blends seaside scenery with artistic displays in a public setting. In Medina, pilgrims may choose to visit the Qiblatain Mosque, explore the battle site at Mount Uhud, or relax in the peaceful setting of the King Fahd Garden. These locations provide further context and depth to the spiritual journey.

Looking ahead, this adjustment by Emirates shows how airlines can respond to specific travel patterns in a timely and thoughtful manner. The added capacity not only improves connectivity during a high-demand period but also promotes a more inclusive travel environment. For travellers heading out during Hajj and Eid, the added flights are expected to make the journey smoother and more accessible during the busy season.
