easyJet passengers travelling to or from France face renewed uncertainty after around 100 flights were cancelled during cabin crew strikes on 15 and 16 August. The airline’s six French bases were affected, and the unions’ strike notice remains valid until 2 September. No additional strike dates have been confirmed, but further action can still be called with 48 hours’ notice during the remaining period.

Where easyJet Disruption Could Return

  • Airline: easyJet
  • Previous strike: 15–16 August 2026
  • Strike notice: Valid until 2 September 2026
  • Notice required for further action: 48 hours
  • Further strike dates: None confirmed at present
  • Affected French bases: Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris Orly, Lyon, Nice, Nantes and Bordeaux
  • Previous disruption: Around 100 flights cancelled
  • If a flight is cancelled: easyJet offers options including transfers or refunds; statutory compensation may also apply depending on eligibility and circumstances.

The dispute involves three unions representing France-based cabin crew and centres on working conditions and staff schedules. Unions say earlier talks failed to resolve their concerns, while easyJet says it offered adjustments and has further negotiations planned for September. During the August walkout, the airline offered affected customers options including free transfers and refunds, with thousands of journeys disrupted across the French network.

The affected bases include Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris Orly, Lyon, Nice, Nantes and Bordeaux, covering several of France’s busiest city and leisure gateways. Disruption at Nice can affect trips to the French Riviera, while Bordeaux, Lyon and Nantes are common starting points for regional breaks. Paris cancellations may have wider consequences because both airports connect with a large range of European easyJet routes.

Anyone booked on easyJet services involving France before 2 September should keep checking the airline’s app or flight tracker, particularly once the 48-hour notice window approaches. A cancelled flight gives customers rebooking or refund options, while compensation may also apply depending on the circumstances. Because no new strike dates are currently confirmed, changing plans in advance could create unnecessary costs for trips that ultimately operate normally.
