Road trips provide tourists with the flexibility to explore a variety of attractions at their own pace. According to Laura, a travel expert at Skyscanner, Malta stands out in Southern Europe for its diverse range of attractions packed into a relatively small area.
Laura explains, "With around 219km (136 miles) of coastline, this island in the Mediterranean may be small, but it definitely has a lot to offer. Its beaches are incredible, it's home to a fortified medieval town (Mdina) and is packed with historic sights and megalithic temples."
Most road trips in Malta start in the capital, Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a history dating back to the 16th century. Visitors to Valletta often explore St John's Co-Cathedral, renowned for its Baroque architecture and Caravaggio's artwork. For those interested in World War II history, the Lascaris War Rooms offer a fascinating look at the underground tunnels and offices used for the country's defense.

This is because the supplier will need to get it back to its original location. That means it’s more cost-effective to plan your road trip as a round trip beginning and starting in the same location."
