Etihad Airways has introduced flights to four international destinations: Krabi in Thailand, Medan in Indonesia, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, and Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. All inaugural services were sold out, demonstrating strong demand from passengers. The newly introduced international connections give travelers from the UAE direct access to these regions, reducing the need for transfers and providing greater flexibility for planning trips for both leisure and business purposes.

The launch of these destinations increases the total number of available international routes. The main elements of this expansion are:

  • A higher number of routes from the UAE,
  • The simultaneous introduction of multiple cities in a short period,
  • Expanded access to regions previously less connected, supporting more versatile travel planning.

These routes to Southeast Asia open access to a number of important attractions for travelers. Travelers visiting Krabi can explore Railay Beach, Ao Nang viewpoint, and the Emerald Pool. Medan features Mount Sibayak, Lake Toba, and Maimun Palace. Phnom Penh provides the riverside promenade, Central Market area, and Oudong Hill viewpoint for visitors to experience. These sites offer a mix of natural landscapes, urban settings, and cultural experiences, presenting a variety of options for travelers.

The route to Addis Ababa opens access to Entoto Hills, the Merkato market, and Debre Libanos Monastery. The sites provide a chance to discover the cultural, historical, and natural characteristics of the region. The new route improves direct access to this part of Africa, allowing travelers to plan itineraries that include a mix of outdoor, cultural, and urban experiences that were previously more difficult to reach from the UAE.

The expansion of the network enhances travel convenience and accessibility for passengers. Travelers can organize trips to Asia and Africa more efficiently, enjoying shorter travel times and greater flexibility. Travelers now have easier access to significant cultural and natural sites, enabling a wider range of travel options. The new international connections offer practical benefits for organizing trips and make destinations that were previously harder to reach more easily accessible to passengers.
