Delta Air Lines confirmed it will begin operating nonstop flights between Boston Logan International Airport and Nice Côte d’Azur starting May 17, 2026. The service will run three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. This announcement follows the airline’s wider expansion from Boston, where another new connection to Madrid is scheduled to open on May 16, 2026, one day before the start of the Nice service.

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is the second busiest in France after Paris. In 2024, the airport accommodated nearly 14.8 million passengers, exceeding the pre-pandemic high of 14.5 million set in 2019. This airport links more than 100 destinations across 45 countries and operates long-haul flights to major hubs in North America and the Middle East.

"The opening of this new direct service between Nice and Boston by Delta is part of a long-standing partnership between our airport and this airline. Delta has always played a pioneering and key role in connecting the Côte d'Azur with the United States, and this new destination strengthens not only our six existing direct routes to the United States, but also the economic, tourist, and cultural links that unite us. This is excellent news for our passengers, our partners, and the international appeal of the Côte d'Azur."
Franck Goldnadel, Chairman of the Board of Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur

The nonstop Boston–Nice flight offers a straight connection, bypassing major European hubs like Paris and London. By skipping these layovers, travelers can shorten their travel time and enjoy a quicker, more pleasant journey to southern France. This option is suitable for both tourists exploring the Riviera and business travelers with engagements in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, an area known for its robust international tourism and commercial activity.

For travelers from Europe, this new route simplifies access to Boston, a major US city celebrated for its historical significance, academic institutions, and economic role. This route lets passengers from the Côte d’Azur travel straight to the United States without stopping anywhere along the way. This may be particularly useful for those involved in business, research or cultural exchange, but also for tourists seeking to explore New England and other regions of the country.

The debut of this nonstop route demonstrates the ongoing growth and increasing connectivity in transatlantic air travel. This highlights how airlines are responding to rising demand by providing more direct connections between regional airports. For passengers, this development introduces another travel choice that may influence ticket availability, trip planning, and competitive dynamics in the transatlantic market. The Boston-Nice route highlights the expanding variety of global flight choices and illustrates the trend of connecting cities beyond Europe’s principal hubs.
