Cyprus Gets a Smoother Route via Dubai
flydubai and Cyprus Airways have launched a new interline agreement that lets travellers book a single ticket between Larnaca and selected flydubai destinations via Dubai. The agreement includes coordinated baggage handling and smoother transfers at Dubai International Airport, giving Cyprus-based travellers a more organised way to reach cities across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Gulf region.
The partnership is already in effect, with bookings available through both airlines’ sales channels and authorised travel partners. Under the deal, Cyprus Airways passengers departing Larnaca can connect through Dubai to destinations including Almaty, Astana, Colombo, Dhaka, Jeddah, Kathmandu, Krabi, Kuwait, Langkawi, Malé, Medina, Muscat, Penang and Riyadh.
The agreement also works in the other direction. flydubai customers can use Cyprus Airways’ services to reach Larnaca, adding another route into Cyprus for visitors, business travellers and people visiting friends or family. Both airlines say the partnership is aimed at making journeys easier to manage, particularly where separate bookings would usually make transfers more complicated.

The deal could make several long-haul trips easier to plan from Cyprus:
- Malé for the Maldives
- Kathmandu for Nepal
- Langkawi and Penang for Malaysia
- Muscat and Riyadh for Gulf city breaks
- Colombo for Sri Lanka
- Jeddah and Medina for religious travel
The main benefit is not a new direct flight, but a cleaner booking process. Travellers still need to compare fares, connection times and baggage conditions before paying. Yet one itinerary through Dubai can reduce the usual hassle of separate tickets, especially on longer trips where missed connections or luggage confusion can turn a holiday into an airport-themed stress test.
