Corsica Gets a Direct Summer Link from Vienna
Air Corsica has started flying from Vienna to Corsica, adding direct summer services to Ajaccio and Bastia. The airline launched its Vienna–Ajaccio route on 7 June 2026, with Bastia joining the schedule on 14 June. Both routes are operated by Airbus A320 aircraft and give Austrian travellers a nonstop way to reach the Mediterranean island.
When the Corsica flights run
The summer schedule includes:
- Vienna–Ajaccio: once weekly, on Sundays
- Ajaccio service: until 4 October 2026
- Vienna–Bastia: twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays
- Bastia service: from 14 June to 30 September
- Aircraft: Airbus A320
Vienna Airport said the routes add two Mediterranean destinations to its summer offer.
Air Corsica said the expansion from Vienna is part of its wider international growth strategy outside public-service routes. The airline also said it would like to extend the operating period of the 2026 services in future, as tourism and aviation businesses look for a better spread of travel demand beyond the busiest summer weeks.
The new flights make Corsica easier for road trips and coastal holidays. Ajaccio gives access to the island’s west, including its old town, Napoleon’s birthplace, nearby beaches and routes towards the Calanques de Piana. Bastia opens to the north, with its old harbour, Terra Vecchia quarter, Cap Corse drives and eastern beaches. Bonifacio is around two hours by car from Ajaccio.
The useful detail is the split between two airports. Ajaccio suits travellers planning the west coast, southern bays, Piana and Bonifacio, while Bastia works better for the north, Cap Corse and the island’s eastern shore. With fixed weekly flight days, anyone building a Corsica road trip should check the route dates before booking hotels or car hire.
