The newly opened Radisson Collection Hotel, Basilica Budapest has begun operating just a few metres from St. Stephen’s Basilica in central Budapest. Located in a carefully renovated neoclassical building, the 71-room property offers direct views of the Basilica and sits within one of the city's busiest and most visited tourist areas. The hotel, now open, gives travellers one more option for staying in the centre, which is especially useful when the city fills up during festivals, public holidays or other big events.

Right in the middle of Budapest, the hotel gives travellers quick access to busy city squares, main crossings, and nearby metro and tram stops. The building used to be a school, but now it stands in the thick of the city, surrounded by offices, old buildings, and busy streets where daily life constantly overlaps. Visitors coming for a quick trip or a festival weekend can easily head out and explore without needing to plan around long journeys or stick to fixed timetables.

Guests staying nearby can walk to Liberty Square, a large open space popular for public events, local cafés, and informal gatherings. A short walk away, Gozsdu Courtyard draws evening crowds with its connected terraces, food stalls, and music venues. These places offer a glimpse into everyday life in Budapest, away from formal museums, and appeal to travellers looking for active neighbourhoods with easy access to food, culture, and nightlife.

Also close is Deák Ferenc Square, one of the city’s busiest pedestrian zones, where visitors often encounter open-air performances or weekend design fairs. Fashion Street, just a few blocks further, is known for its mix of Hungarian boutiques and international brands, making it a useful stop for casual shopping. These areas require no additional transport and are reachable on foot, offering convenience to those exploring the city independently.

The hotel’s arrival highlights how central Budapest continues to evolve as a walkable, compact destination for travellers. Rather than spreading accommodation toward the outskirts, more properties are appearing where people actually spend their time. For visitors, that means shorter routes between their hotel and the city’s most active areas, allowing them to focus less on logistics and more on experiencing what Budapest has to offer.
