Barbados, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico: Delta Airlines has announced the opening of new routes

Delta Air Lines has announced the opening of several new routes to popular tropical destinations, including Barbados, Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, and Mazatlán in Mexico. Delta will operate daily flights from its main hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Barbados and Puerto Plata starting November 23.

Flights to Mazatlán will be operated three times a week from the airline's hub in Minneapolis/St. Paul, starting on December 21. The airline is also increasing the number of flights to Curaçao from Atlanta to daily starting November 23. Curaçao is often called the "tourist twin" of St. Maarten because of its picturesque beaches without high prices. In addition, Delta previously announced that it will start flights to Tulum in October, according to the Travel+Leisure website.

"This new schedule gives travelers unprecedented choice with up to 1,000 weekly flights to destinations throughout Latin America and the Caribbean," said Joe Esposito, senior vice president of network planning for Delta.

All new routes will be operated on Boeing 737-800 aircraft, and ticket sales will begin on February 3, 2024, while flights from Tulum are already on sale. Delta says they will serve at least 50 destinations in the Caribbean during the 2024-2025 winter season.

The new daily service to Barbados will help more travelers discover the island's famous pink sand beaches and all-inclusive resorts. The island has recently celebrated the opening of new resorts such as the O2 Beach Club & Spa, which offers sea-view suites and a rooftop pool.

For travelers looking for a quicker trip, Delta recently began promoting a "New Year, New Adventures" offer with discounted flights to Orlando, Las Vegas, and other cities.
