The Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort on the banks of the Chao Phraya River has opened a new venue called Sala Lakorn, which is open daily from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The venue combines a buffet dinner with a live theatrical performance, creating an integrated cultural and culinary experience. Guests can observe elements of Thai culture through contemporary dance, visual effects, and traditional art forms while having the opportunity to sample a wide range of local and international cuisine.

The main feature of Sala Lakorn is The Eternal Siam, a production developed with Thai artist Manop Meejamrat, known as Kru Nai, who has been awarded the Silpathorn Award for Performing Arts. The show presents Thai history from ancient times to the modern era, combining contemporary dance, traditional Nang Yai shadow puppetry, and visual storytelling techniques. It is structured as a chronological journey, allowing audiences to follow cultural developments while observing traditional symbols and ceremonies throughout the performance.

Sala Lakorn provides a clearly scheduled evening program integrating both dining and cultural performance. The riverside location allows views of the Chao Phraya River and surrounding cityscape. Guests can arrive to enjoy the buffet before the main show begins, enabling a structured evening without interruptions. This format is suitable for all types of visitors, from individuals to groups, and allows you to choose the time of your visit so that you can also do other things in Bangkok in the evening.

The buffet menu offers a combination of traditional Thai dishes, seafood options, and international items. Examples include Thai green curry, sweet and sour sea bass, crab omelet, dim sum, and dishes influenced by Indian cuisine. The buffet arrangement lets guests select dishes at their leisure and align their dining with the show, offering flexibility for different preferences and busy schedules.

The opening of Sala Lakorn highlights a growing practice in city centers of pairing cultural performances with dining experiences. Attending a traditional Thai show while enjoying a varied dinner in one evening allows travelers to engage with the local culture in a more personal and authentic way. This style may influence how guests organize their evenings, showing that meals and cultural performances can be smoothly enjoyed together for a memorable experience.
