An airport worker in Hong Kong tragically died when he fell from a evacuator under the plane

A 34-year-old ground controller tragically passed away in an incident at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) on February 6. His severe injuries proved to be fatal.

According to the police, the deceased was seated in the passenger seat of a tow truck when he fell out and was struck by an airplane trailing behind. The type of plane involved has not yet been disclosed, as reported by Simple Flying.

The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. on the airport's West Concourse. The tow truck driver was detained by police for questioning.

The airport management stated, "It is suspected that the seatbelt was left unfastened while the employee was working."

The airport administration also extended condolences to the family of the deceased and pledged to collaborate with the relevant authorities in investigating the incident.

The Airport Cargo Workers Association also expressed heartfelt condolences and urged for increased financial support for the family of the tragically deceased employee.

The employee worked for China Aircraft Services, which provides ground handling services at Hong Kong Airport and was struck by the plane.
