Starting July 10, 2024, Alaska Airlines is offering significant discounts for Mileage Plan members looking to travel internationally. From July 10 to 31, 2024, members can redeem miles for international flights between October 1, 2024, and January 31, 2025, at up to 50% off.

This new promotion, part of the Global Getaways program, allows members to book flights to various international destinations at reduced mileage rates. The discounted one-way flights are available in both economy and premium economy cabins with Alaska Airlines and its partner airlines.

Highlighted destinations and their new redemption rates include Rome (27,500 miles), Delhi (30,000 miles), Taipei (25,000 miles), Athens (25,000 miles), Guadalajara (12,500 miles), and Muscat (25,000 miles). These lower rates provide an excellent opportunity for travelers to explore diverse and culturally rich destinations.

The Global Getaways program, launched in April, initially offered reduced miles for beach escapes. Now, it focuses on destinations known for their cultural significance. Alaska Airlines has also updated its website to simplify the booking process, offering clearer award charts and better availability for award flights.

Additionally, partner award travel rates have been reduced, with short trips starting at 4,500 miles, down from 7,500 miles. More than 60% of nonstop economy and business class redemptions now require fewer miles. Premium economy seating with partners is also available at just 30% more miles than economy rates.

These changes aim to make international travel more accessible and affordable for Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members, enhancing the overall travel experience with valuable savings and improved booking options.
