Airbnb Wants More of Your Holiday Bookin
Airbnb is adding more travel services to its app, meaning users may soon book more than accommodation in one place. The platform is introducing airport pickups, grocery delivery, luggage storage, car hire, boutique hotels and AI planning tools. The move takes Airbnb further away from its original focus on home rentals and closer to a wider holiday-booking platform.
Some services are aimed at removing small but annoying parts of trip planning. In 25 US cities, guests will be able to order groceries before arrival, so food is already at the property. Airport pickups can be booked worldwide through Airbnb, with drivers tracking flights. Car hire will also be added this summer inside the app.

The new features are mostly about planning around the stay, not changing the stay itself:

Food market visits, landmark tours, World Cup events and restaurant-led experiences may help people build fuller itineraries before they arrive. Boutique hotels also give users another option when apartments are unavailable, too expensive or less practical for short stays.
The main question is whether Airbnb becomes genuinely easier to use or just more crowded. Booking a pickup, car or experience in the same app may save time, especially for nervous planners. But more extras also mean more decisions, more prompts and more ways to spend money. The value will depend on whether the app helps people plan, not simply sells them more.
