Air France Launches New Paris to Kilimanjaro Route

The new route will be an extension of the existing Paris-Zanzibar service, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. This development is part of Air France's ongoing expansion of its long-haul network for the 2024-2025 winter season.

These flights will utilize Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering 34 Business Class seats, 24 in Premium Economy, and 266 in Economy. The new Kilimanjaro route replaces the previous Paris-Zanzibar-Dar es Salaam service, while Dar es Salaam remains accessible through KLM’s flights from Amsterdam, operating six times a week.

By coordinating schedules with KLM, Air France aims to provide more flexible options for travelers. KLM will continue to serve Kilimanjaro four times a week and Zanzibar twice a week, ensuring broad coverage of key destinations in Tanzania.

Flight schedules for the new route (local times):

• AF874: Departs Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 10:10 am, arrives in Zanzibar at 9:10 pm. Leaves Zanzibar at 10:55 pm and lands in Kilimanjaro at 11:55 pm on the same day.
• Return: Departs Kilimanjaro at 1:25 am, arriving in Paris at 8:50 am on the same day.

Mount Kilimanjaro, known as the Roof of Africa, is the continent's highest peak and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its three volcanic cones—Mawenzi, Kibo, and Shira—offer diverse trekking routes.
