Air Canada Opens New Europe and Asia Routes for 2027

Air Canada is widening its 2027 network with new non-stop links from Toronto, Montréal and Vancouver to Europe and Asia, plus extra service on several existing routes. The expansion adds new Air Canada destinations including Oslo, Shannon, Basel, Dubrovnik and Guangzhou, while Toronto gains a new direct link to Nice. Tickets are already on sale, with most European services operating through summer and early autumn.

New Air Canada Routes for 2027

• Vancouver–Guangzhou: 4 May; three weekly; year-round; 00:35–05:00 +1, Tue/Thu/Sun.
• Toronto–Oslo: 2 June; four weekly; until 10 October; 21:30–11:15 +1, Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun.
• Toronto–Shannon: 10 June; three weekly; until 2 October; 21:30–09:05 +1, Tue/Thu/Sat.
• Toronto–Nice: 16 June; twice weekly; until 23 October; 19:30–09:40 +1, Wed/Sat.
• Montréal–Basel: 16 June; four weekly; until 23 October; 20:30–10:10 +1, Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat.
• Montréal–Dubrovnik: 11 May; three weekly; until 23 October; 18:15–08:30 +1, Tue/Thu/Sat.

The wider schedule also brings back Air Canada’s Toronto–London Heathrow daytime flight on 1 May, running daily and year-round, while Toronto–Shanghai increases to daily. Toronto–Guatemala City, launching in December 2026, will become year-round, as will Montréal services to Tenerife, Lima and Guatemala City. The new links open up several useful starting points for longer trips. Shannon gives easier access to Ireland’s west coast and the Wild Atlantic Way, while Nice puts the Côte d’Azur within a direct flight of Toronto. Basel works well for trips spanning Switzerland, France and Germany, Dubrovnik serves Croatia’s southern Adriatic coast, and Oslo is a natural gateway for rail and road journeys deeper into Norway.

The biggest change is choice rather than sheer frequency. Travellers near Shannon, Oslo, Nice, Basel or Dubrovnik can reach Canada without first connecting through another European hub, while Toronto and Montréal provide onward links across North America. The daytime Heathrow service also gives London-bound customers an alternative to an overnight crossing. Guangzhou and Oslo remain subject to government approval, so check schedules again before committing to non-refundable plans.
