Air Cairo Adds Saturday Flights from Paderborn/Lippstadt to Hurghada
Starting in October 2025, Air Cairo will add a Saturday service from Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport to Hurghada, Egypt, in response to growing demand for holidays on the Red Sea. The route currently operates three times a week: on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and the extra flight will make travelling on this line easier for passengers. With this addition, passengers will have greater flexibility in planning their autumn and winter trips to the sun.
The extra flight will run until the end of October 2025, operated in cooperation with the airport’s long-standing partner airline. The decision to add another flight comes after steady growth in passenger numbers on the current routes, showing that interest in leisure travel remains strong. By offering an additional departure, Air Cairo supports both spontaneous travellers and organised tour groups heading south. Tickets are available through major tour operators and on the SunExpress official website.
Hurghada remains one of Egypt’s most visited destinations, attracting both new and returning guests with its year-round warm climate and 40-kilometre stretch of beaches. The Red Sea around Hurghada is well known for diving and snorkelling among colourful coral reefs. Along the promenade and marina, visitors can find cafés, small shops, and places to eat or enjoy an evening walk. The mix of calm beaches and water sports makes the resort an excellent fit for families, couples, and anyone seeking both relaxation and adventure.
This connection also provides easier access to nearby attractions, such as the Eastern Desert, the island of Giftun, and the modern town of El Gouna, often referred to as Egypt’s "Venice by the Sea." Travellers can plan day trips, try quad safaris across the dunes, or unwind in all-inclusive seaside resorts. With more weekly departures from Paderborn/Lippstadt, spontaneous getaways have become easier to arrange even outside the peak summer season.
Air Cairo’s new schedule shows that short trips to sunny destinations remain popular with German travellers. The added Saturday flight strengthens the airport’s role in international travel and keeps links with Egypt active through the year. With more routes available, passengers now have wider options and easier access to one of the Red Sea’s most popular holiday resorts.
