A Hilton Cave Hotel Opens Beside Ortahisar Castle
Hilton has opened Elika Cave Suites Cappadocia, Curio Collection by Hilton, marking the group’s first cave hotel. The 36-room property is located in Ortahisar, in the heart of Cappadocia’s UNESCO-listed landscape, beside Ortahisar Castle. The hotel has been restored from centuries-old cave dwellings and now combines historic stone structures with modern guest facilities.
Cappadocia is known for fairy chimneys, rock-carved homes and volcanic landscapes shaped over millions of years. The hotel uses this setting as part of the stay, with open-air pathways, a village-like layout and cave interiors shaped by stone, light and local craftsmanship. Hilton says the property is designed around Cappadocia’s heritage rather than a standard hotel format.
