A 1920s Palazzo Is Becoming Cortina’s New Hotel
A 1920s palazzo in Cortina d’Ampezzo is being transformed into Le Graal Cortina, a boutique hotel in the heart of the Dolomites. The property will bring spa facilities, restaurants and mountain-facing rooms to a central address that suits visitors wanting to explore on foot. It is due to open in 2026, but the exact date remains unannounced, making winter plans less straightforward.
Architect Achille Salvagni has designed the interiors, while the facilities will include an indoor pool, sauna, hammam and cryotherapy chamber. Guests will have a choice of fine dining at Le Monsù, an all-day café and Le Graal Bar. Families can ask about connecting Deluxe Rooms and Prestige Suites accommodating up to five people; these configurations are limited, rather than standard for every room.
What to Check Before Booking Le Graal Cortina
- Address: Via Marconi 2, central Cortina d’Ampezzo.
- Opening: Expected in 2026; date unconfirmed.
- Size: 30 rooms, including 13 suites.
- Rates: No verified starting nightly price.
- Offer: 20% off with breakfast previously advertised; confirm validity.
- Slopes: Faloria cable car about five minutes away on foot; not ski-in/ski-out.
- Lift passes: Check separate tickets and opening dates.
- Spa: Treatment and access charges not yet verified.
- Airport: Direct coaches from Venice Marco Polo.
Outside the hotel, Corso Italia’s shops and cafés and Cortina’s parish church are an easy walk; the Tofana and Cinque Torri ski areas need other lifts or ground transport. Direct coaches connect Venice Marco Polo Airport with Cortina, with Cortina Express quoting a journey of about two hours. ATVO requires reservations. Check winter lift schedules and arrange the final transfer to the hotel if carrying skis.
The location suits guests who want restaurants and shopping nearby without staying beside a ski piste; families may value the connecting rooms. But until the hotel confirms its opening day, nightly rates and spa access rules, paying for non-refundable flights or transfers would carry extra risk. Ask whether treatments, breakfast, ski transfers and the advertised discount are included in your chosen rate before booking.
