A €19.99 Flight Will Link Naples and Trieste
Wizz Air will add a new domestic connection between Naples and Trieste, giving passengers a direct alternative to a long overland journey between southern and north-eastern Italy. The service is due to begin in December 2026, with tickets already available. The route will suit city breaks, family visits and business travel, while also creating an easier link between two very different parts of the country.

The flights will remove the need for a connection and provide another option alongside rail and road travel. The four-day pattern includes Friday and Sunday services, which may work particularly well for weekend trips. It also gives residents of Campania and Friuli Venezia Giulia a more straightforward way to travel between the two regions during the winter season.
Trieste brings visitors close to Piazza Unità d’Italia, the waterfront, Miramare Castle and the cafés associated with the city’s long coffee tradition. It can also serve as a starting point for the Karst Plateau, nearby coastal towns and onward journeys into Slovenia. Naples offers access to its historic centre, Pompeii, Herculaneum, the islands of the Gulf of Naples and connections towards the Amalfi Coast.
The route opens up a realistic two-city itinerary without requiring travellers to pass through Rome, Milan or another major hub. A short stay can now combine Naples’ dense historic streets and archaeological sites with Trieste’s seafront squares and Central European architecture. The low launch fare is likely to attract attention, but the direct journey itself is the more useful change, especially for people with limited time.
