Windstar Cruises Announces New Alaskan and Japanese Voyages for Star Seeker in 2026

Windstar Cruises has unveiled plans for its new vessel, Star Seeker, which will embark on voyages to Alaska and Japan upon joining the fleet in 2026. Star Seeker will be sailing in Alaska from May to August, offering 7-, 10-, and 11-day cruises between Juneau or Seward, Alaska, and Vancouver, British Columbia.

Following the conclusion of operations in Alaska and Japan in 2023 with the vessel Star Breeze, which was reassigned to Tahiti for year-round service, Windstar is eager to return to these popular regions. Windstar’s President, Christopher Prelog, emphasized the strong demand from guests for these routes, expressing enthusiasm about revisiting these destinations.

Guests will also have the option to enhance their experience with pre- and post-cruise land tours to Denali. After the Alaskan journey, the ship will head to Japan in late August to commence popular 10-day "Grand Japan" cruises, sailing between Tokyo and Osaka until November.

Windstar plans to make the deployment details for Star Seeker in Alaska and Japan available for online booking by early August 2024.

In Alaska, Windstar will employ expedition leaders to conduct its Signature Expeditions, a hallmark of their previous Alaskan deployments. These small-group expeditions include hiking, kayaking, and skiff tours, allowing guests to explore remote areas such as Misty Fjords under the guidance of experts who provide rich context.

The new itineraries are expected to attract both returning guests and new travelers seeking to explore the natural and cultural wonders of Alaska and Japan.
