What the "most inconvenient store" in China, hanging off a cliff, looks like
You can find a unique store hanging off a cliff in the picturesque area of Shiniuzhai in China's Hunan province. It has been called "the most inconvenient in the country" because the staff has to replenish stocks by climbing up.
The unusual building was opened in 2018, and it is intended for climbers who may need water or snacks on their way to the top. CNN writes about it.
The store is located along an 800-metre road called the "iron road". It has metal fasteners for extreme climbers who climb up it.
They can buy water through the window for 5 to 7 yuan, or less than $1. The store staff carry the bottles every day before their shift.
The shop also gave out free cakes in tiny red boxes to climbers when the country celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Since the shop has been open for 5 years, we can assume that it is quite successful and in demand. The owners receive not only profit but also advertising as the atypical building once "broke" the local and global media.
By the way, according to journalists, it took a whole year to build this wooden stall on a rock.
