Virgin Atlantic Launches Flight Search App Inside ChatGPT

Virgin Atlantic has launched a flight search tool inside ChatGPT, becoming the first airline to introduce this type of app. The feature allows users to look for routes and compare options by typing requests in everyday language. Results appear in a clear format, helping people review destinations and plan trips without moving between multiple search pages or using traditional filters.
The tool continues the airline’s digital updates and follows the launch of its Concierge service and newer mobile app. In ChatGPT, users can search for flights by typing simple details such as destination, travel month or cabin choice. Results appear in one list, so options can be checked and compared without running the same search across several travel websites.
After choosing a flight, customers are taken to Virgin Atlantic’s website or mobile app to finish the booking. The search happens in ChatGPT, while payment and ticket details are completed through the airline’s usual channels. The airline says the tool offers another way to find flight information and organise trips using a format many people already use in everyday digital services.
Example requests users can type
- Flights to the Caribbean in February
- Premium flights to Los Angeles next month
- Options for New York this weekend
- Routes to Delhi with flexible dates
The tool can help people browse destinations across the Virgin Atlantic network, including routes linking the UK with North America, the Caribbean and India. Flight options appear quickly, making it easier to check different travel dates and see price differences before choosing when to go. This may help when planning short city breaks, longer beach holidays or trips to visit family at various times of the year.
“We’re proud to be the first airline in the world to launch an app in ChatGPT, as we continue to focus on meeting our customers where they are and making it easier than ever to connect with us."
The launch shows how airlines are starting to use chat-based tools as another way to present flight information. Searching inside ChatGPT may save time when looking through routes, as the main details appear in one place. The final booking still takes place on the airline’s website or app, so the purchase process remains the same as before.
