Toronto Returns to Budapest’s Summer Flight Board
Air Canada has resumed its direct Budapest–Toronto service for the 2026 summer season, restoring a long-haul link between Hungary and Canada. Flights operate between Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport and Toronto Pearson International Airport from 6 June to 24 October. The route gives passengers a nonstop option across the Atlantic during the peak summer travel period.
When the Toronto flights run
The route is operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, with Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy available. The timetable includes:
- Operating days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
- Toronto departure: 19:00
- Budapest arrival: 09:40 next day
- Budapest departure: 11:45
- Toronto arrival: 15:05
- Flight time: around nine hours
Air Canada will offer 47,680 seats between Budapest and Toronto during the summer season. Budapest Airport said the route is one of the most anticipated links of the year and becomes the airport’s second direct North American destination for summer 2026. Air Canada said it is the only airline offering nonstop flights between the two cities.
The route makes Canada easier to reach for people visiting family and friends, business travellers and holidaymakers. Through Toronto, passengers can connect to other parts of Canada, major US cities, the Caribbean, Hawaii and destinations in Central and South America. For inbound visitors, Budapest offers access to the Danube, thermal baths, historic districts and onward trips around Hungary.
The direct service cuts out the need for an extra European connection on Budapest–Toronto journeys, which matters on long-haul trips with luggage, children or tight onward plans. Budapest Airport points to strong existing demand, with almost 90,000 passengers travelling annually between Hungary and Canada. Travellers should check connection times in Toronto before booking onward flights.
