Tirana Adds Two New Summer Routes

Wizz Air has announced two new direct flights out of Tirana for summer 2026. The carrier will start services to Kalamata in Greece and Santander in Spain. The low-cost carrier plans to begin flights at the end of March, with Kalamata launching on 31 March and Santander on 29 March. Both routes will run twice per week and tickets are already on sale through the airline’s website and app.
The airline notes that both destinations cater to warm-season travel demand, connecting the Albanian capital with coastal regions in Southern and Western Europe. Services to Kalamata will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, while Santander flights are set for Thursdays and Sundays. Ticket sales opened with initial fares from ALL 2,490 for Kalamata and ALL 2,990 for Santander, allowing early holiday planning ahead of summer.
Wizz Air says Albania remains important to its growth strategy, pointing to Kalamata as a new addition to its Greek footprint while Santander enhances its Spanish map. The carrier continues to expand its leisure-oriented network from Tirana, with these routes positioned around city breaks, coastal trips and cultural holidays across Europe.

For Albanians planning summer trips, the two new links make it easier to reach destinations that mix beaches, culture and outdoor activities. Kalamata provides access to the Peloponnese, including archaeological sites, traditional food markets and coastal towns, while Santander opens the door to northern Spain’s surf beaches, scenic coastline and cultural districts. The flight schedules also suit both short breaks and longer stays during the warm months.
Expanding our network from Tirana remains a key priority for Wizz Air. The launch of these two new routes reflects our continued commitment to offering affordable and convenient travel options while strengthening connectivity between Albania and important European destinations. We are pleased to provide our passengers with even more choices for Summer 2026. Let’s Wizz!
The expansion mirrors a wider trend in Albania’s air sector as more direct European links appear each year. For Wizz Air, the new pair strengthens its position in Tirana without relying on large hub airports. These new links expand the list of summer destinations reachable directly from Tirana and run on fixed days each week. People in Albania will have more direct options when planning their summer plans for 2026.
