The world's largest cruise ship, Icon of The Seas, was launched in test mode at a Finnish shipyard in Turku.
It is 365 meters long and just over 65 meters wide. The ship is officially scheduled to embark on its first cruise in early 2024, but for now it is undergoing a huge number of tests, reports CNN.
It is expected that more than 450 different specialists will conduct stress tests of the main engines, turbines, hull and lifeboats of the ship.
Icon of the Seas is expected to carry passengers on cruise routes in the Caribbean. The liner is equipped with 2805 cabins, which can accommodate 5610 people in total when settled in twos. The crew will comprise 2350 people.
The vessel will have 20 decks, which will house a variety of shops, restaurants, swimming pools, a jacuzzi, a water park, and even a concert hall with fountains.
