The company Small Luxury Hotels of the World terminated its partnership with Hyatt in favor of Hilton
After many years of cooperation with World of Hyatt, Small Luxury Hotels of the World is leaving the program to work with Hilton.
This became known after the company announced that it is now cooperating with this hotel group, opening its properties to Hilton Honors members, Flyertalk.com reports.
In 2018, Hyatt Hotels became the first to partner with Small Luxury Hotels of the World, providing the group access to World of Hyatt members. There were rumors on the forums that the relationship could end in the second half of 2024 due to the fact that some small luxury hotels could not be booked through Hyatt portals until the end of the year.
Hilton's announcement with the luxury hotel group confirms the termination of the relationship and transition to Hilton Honors. Comparing the 560-hotel group to Waldorf Astoria, Conrad Hotels, and LXR Hotels and Resorts, Hilton says the destinations are "highly complementary to Hilton's vast hotel network and will give guests access to additional luxury accommodations in hundreds of new destinations."
As the program grows, more than 180 million Hilton Honors members will be able to book Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties through Hilton's portals, earn Hilton Honors points for each eligible stay, and redeem points for stays at participating properties.
More details about the partnership are expected to be announced in the coming months. Neither brand has announced the length of the partnership.
As TravelWise reported, Hilton is opening the first international hotel at the airport in Saudi Arabia.
