Next summer, Ryanair will grow its Shannon Airport network with new direct flights to Rome, Madrid, Warsaw, and Poznan, marking one of the airline’s biggest expansions in Ireland’s west. Along with the fresh routes, the airline will add more flights on popular existing destinations and offer a brief two-day fare promotion, with prices beginning at €29.99. The promotion highlights the growing competition in Ireland’s regional air market and offers travelers a brief window to secure affordable European trips.

The expanded schedule marks the largest ever operated by Ryanair from Shannon, with a total of 30 destinations and about 1.4 million seats available. Services to Rome and Poznan will run twice weekly, while Warsaw will have four departures each week and Madrid will continue as a year-round route. With the new additions, passengers can expect a 15% increase in capacity compared to the previous summer.

“We’re delighted to welcome Ryanair’s continued commitment to Shannon Airport with the addition of a fourth based aircraft, four new Summer ‘26 services to Rome, Warsaw, Poznan and Madrid, as well as increased frequencies on five key routes. This expansion is a strong vote of confidence in Shannon’s growth trajectory. It reflects our ongoing investment in infrastructure and passenger experience, as well as our strong commitment to working with airline partners to expand our route network and deliver greater choice for customers across the country."
Ray O’Driscoll, Interim CEO of The Shannon Airport Group

These new routes open direct access to some of Europe’s most exciting cities. A weekend in Rome among ancient ruins, summer concerts in Warsaw, art walks in Poznan, or afternoons in Madrid’s museums are now only a short flight away. Travelers from Ireland’s west can skip long transfers through major hubs and head directly to their chosen cities in less time.

For people living near Shannon, the added connections make quick getaways simpler and more affordable. Direct flights reduce the need for time-consuming stopovers, allowing smoother travel plans. Families heading south for sunshine will also benefit from extra seats on existing leisure routes to places like Malta, Alicante, and Lanzarote during peak holiday periods.

The 2026 expansion at Shannon signals a gradual return to smoother, more flexible travel across Europe. With extra direct flights, passengers can reach a wider range of destinations without unnecessary detours. The bigger summer schedule is expected to help balance prices, inspire last-minute trips, and make exploring Europe simpler, even during the busiest months.
