Ryanair Adds More Winter Routes at Bratislava
Ryanair will expand its Bratislava base again at the end of October 2026, adding a fourth Boeing 737 aircraft and opening a new direct route to Turin. The airline says the move will support its largest winter schedule yet from the Slovak capital, with 23 regular routes planned for the 2026/27 winter season.
The carrier has operated at Bratislava Airport for more than 20 years and opened its local base in 2015 with two Boeing 737-800 aircraft. A third based aircraft was added last October, followed by the planned fourth aircraft this year. Ryanair expects the expanded base to help raise annual passenger numbers in Bratislava to around two million.
New Winter Route Details
The winter schedule includes several practical updates:
- Based aircraft: four Boeing 737s
- New Turin route: starts 26 October 2026
- Turin frequency: twice weekly, Mondays and Saturdays
- Winter network: 23 regular routes
- New winter additions: Turin, Warsaw-Modlin, Paphos and Tirana
Warsaw-Modlin, Paphos and Tirana already launched in summer 2026 and will continue through winter.
The Turin route gives Slovak travellers easier access to northern Italy, including the city’s museums, football culture, cafés and Alpine surroundings. The wider winter schedule also keeps leisure options open to places such as Paphos, Alicante, Malaga, Malta, Palermo, Naples and Lanzarote. For city breaks, passengers will still have routes including Dublin, Manchester, Milan-Malpensa, Rome-Ciampino and Barcelona.
The expansion gives Bratislava a stronger role in winter travel, with more direct routes and a larger based fleet than before. For Slovak passengers and those living near the border, it means more choice without having to rely on Vienna or other larger airports. If demand follows Ryanair’s forecast, Bratislava could become a more practical winter departure point for both city breaks and leisure trips.
