Ruby Lilou Opens Near Vieux-Port in Marseille

Marseille has a new city-centre hotel, with Ruby Lilou now open between Vieux-Port and La Joliette. It is the Ruby brand’s first property in France and sits close to Le Panier, putting guests within easy reach of the waterfront, cafés and some of the city’s best-known historic streets. The hotel also brings together accommodation, a rooftop terrace and coworking spaces under one roof.
The 237 rooms come in four main categories - Nest, Cosy, Lovely and Wow - plus two Loft rooms, and are designed around compact city stays rather than full-service luxury. Expect large beds, rainfall showers, blackout curtains and Bluetooth speakers in every room. Downstairs, there is a 24-hour bar and café, while the 300 sqm rooftop terrace and adjoining Ruby Yani workspace add space to work, meet or unwind outside the room.

Visitors planning a Calanques day trip can use the hotel as a central base, although the national park still requires separate local transport and planning.
Ruby Lilou is strongest for travellers who want a central Marseille base with quick access to the old port, rail station and business district rather than a resort-style stay. The €130 starting rate includes breakfast, but parking and airport transfers are not bundled in. Its rooftop, social spaces and adjoining workspace suit short city breaks, remote-work stays and business trips where location matters more than full-service resort facilities.
