Passenger found a worm in her sandwich on an IndiGo plane: the airline responds
Airline IndiGo has apologized for the worm incident that occurred on a flight between Delhi and Mumbai on Friday, December 29. At that time, nutritionist Kushboo Arora Gupta, who has more than 235,000 followers on Instagram, complained about the disgusting "discovery" in her sandwich.
According to her, the crew continued to serve the snacks even when the passenger complained about the worm in the piece of bread. The carrier assured that the situation is already under control and all necessary measures have been taken for the safety of passengers, Simple Flying writes.
"After investigation, our crew immediately stopped serving the specific sandwich in question. This issue is currently being thoroughly investigated and we are working closely with our caterer to ensure that appropriate corrective action is taken. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to the passenger," the statement said.
The blogger who filed a complaint with the carrier assured that she did not want any compensation. She is only concerned about the safety of passengers eating in the air.
Reportedly, on board an IndiGo flight to Mumbai, a passenger noticed a worm in her sandwich, which she immediately filmed. It was crawling in a piece of bread, making its way to the filling.
After that, according to the tourist, she showed the spoiled food to the stewardess, and the latter promised to replace the sandwich with something else, but the passenger refused.
"I immediately rushed to her as soon as I ate one bite, but she just said: "I'll replace it with something else." I didn't want to create a panic situation, but her first action should have been to inform the other passengers so they could make an informed decision whether to eat the sandwich or not," the passenger wrote.
