Paris’s De Vie Wins Major New Cocktail Bar Award

De Vie in Paris has been named Best New International Cocktail Bar at the 2026 Spirited Awards, organised by the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation. The venue opened in the Montorgueil quarter last year and quickly became known for seasonal French ingredients, small-format drinks and a structured tasting experience. The award places it among the year’s most notable new bar openings outside the United States.

De Vie’s offering changes with the seasons and uses French produce, locally sourced spirits, fruit wines, digestifs and aperitifs. The bar works closely with its kitchen to reuse ingredients and reduce waste, while drinks are chilled without ice. Guests can choose the tasting menu or order à la carte cocktails and food, and vegetarian or pescatarian diners can be accommodated with advance notice.
The award gives visitors another reason to spend an evening in Montorgueil, one of central Paris’s liveliest food districts. A booking can be combined with Rue Montorgueil’s shops and cafés, Les Halles, Saint-Eustache Church or the Musée des Arts et Métiers. The pedestrian-friendly setting makes De Vie easy to include in a wider city break rather than planning an evening around a single venue.
De Vie’s win adds a distinctive experience to Paris beyond the usual wine bars and grand hotel lounges. The 90-minute format suits visitors who want something more considered than a quick cocktail, while the alcohol-free version keeps the experience open to non-drinkers. Reservations are a sensible move, especially now that an international award is likely to bring the venue more attention.
