Oneworld Introduces First Branded Lounge in Seoul
In a significant development for global air travel, the oneworld® Alliance, renowned for its premium airline services, has unveiled its first-ever fully branded airport lounge in Seoul. This groundbreaking initiative was announced on Thursday, January 25, 2024, marking a pivotal moment in the alliance's journey towards luxury air travel. As oneworld prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary, this new lounge at Incheon International Airport symbolizes its commitment to enhancing customer experiences.
The oneworld lounge, a collaboration with Swissport and the team behind ASPIRE Airport Lounges, is strategically located in Terminal 1 of Incheon International Airport. Spanning 555 square meters, it offers a modern and stylish setting for up to 148 guests. This contemporary lounge is conveniently positioned within a 10-minute walk from the furthest departure gates of oneworld member airlines.
Incheon International Airport is a key hub for seven oneworld member airlines: American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, and SriLankan Airlines. These airlines collectively operate over 60 weekly flights from Seoul, connecting travelers to over 900 destinations worldwide through the oneworld network.
The newly opened lounge is designed to provide a tranquil and engaging environment for travelers. It features refined fixtures, advanced digital technologies, and ergonomically designed settings, offering a perfect space for guests to relax, dine, and recharge before their flights.
Gerhard Girkinger, oneworld Vice President of Customer Experience, Delivery, and Membership, expressed pride in opening the first oneworld branded lounge. He emphasized that this lounge represents a significant step in their vision of making travel bright, setting a new standard for future oneworld lounges globally.
Lavinia Lau, Cathay Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, also shared her enthusiasm for the launch. She highlighted the significance of the lounge's location in Korea, a crucial market for Cathay Pacific, and its potential to elevate the overall customer experience across the oneworld alliance.
