Newcastle Adds Direct Marrakech Flights for Winter 2026

easyJet has announced a new direct flight between Newcastle Airport and Marrakech, adding another winter option for travellers in the North East of England. The service will start on 3 November 2026 and will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Flights and package holidays are already available to book through easyJet’s website and mobile app.
The route follows the opening of easyJet’s new base at Newcastle Airport in March 2026, which expanded the range of destinations available from the region. The base has created jobs for pilots and cabin crew and has expanded travel options for people living in the North East, Southern Scotland, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Marrakech is now included among 23 destinations currently served from Newcastle.
“With 23 destinations now on sale from our Newcastle base, we are providing more choice and great value fares, while making it easier for people to travel to a wide range of destinations from their local airport."

Marrakech is known for its historic medina, traditional markets and architecture built in warm clay colours. Visitors often spend time in Jemaa el-Fnaa square, explore historic palaces and walk through gardens shaped by centuries of cultural influences. The city combines historic sites with a wide range of accommodation, making it suitable for both short stays and longer visits centred on local cuisine, crafts and design.
The direct route also makes it easier to plan trips beyond the city itself. Travellers can reach the Atlas Mountains, the coastal town of Essaouira and nearby desert areas known for guided excursions and outdoor experiences. A non-stop flight may reduce travel time and make winter holidays simpler to organise. Marrakech also becomes an additional option for those considering destinations outside the usual Mediterranean winter routes.
Adding Marrakech to the Newcastle schedule reflects how more international routes are appearing at regional UK airports. Direct flights from outside London create new possibilities for winter travel, especially to destinations with warmer weather. Travellers in northern England and surrounding regions can fly to Marrakech from their local airport, without needing connections through major hubs when arranging winter travel.
